Mission Medic Air Limited is a registered charity -a non-profit making organization.
MMA relies entireley on donations and on volunteers, it receives no funds from the
government.
The company is governed by a board of 10 directors and 12 management committee members.
All involved are volunteers and give freely of their time and expertise as required.
There are also members scattered around the world, who support the work with publicity
and donations.
Mission medic-Air was started in 1966 by a group of people on the Copperbelt who
recognised the need to help the Mission hospitals. Since the the middle of the 1990’s
the role of mission medic -air has changed as most missions now have resident doctors.
There is still a need for specialist medical personnel and most the rural hospitals
lack medical supplies. The ever increasing maintenance cost of equipment is also
greatly assisted by Mission Medic-air.
